Reason for purchase:

wanting to increase hair density, length, and extend hair growth cycle all around, but specifically wanting to restore hairline at the front of my head.

 

Can you share a bit about the issue that you were experiencing and how it came about?

I have alopecia, which was officially diagnosed at Bosley in Beverly Hills when I was 28. I started developing a noticeable receding hairline when I was 22, which hit a tipping point by the time I was 23. A bald spot at the crown appeared and started to grow quickly when I was 31, and by the age of 32, my hair had stopped growing much at all. I was preparing to shave my head, as some friends had done, but relented to trying Rogaine foam, which worked to some effect. I started taking Propecia at 38, which did help, but the positive effects of hair loss prevention and growth reached a plateau last year. I wanted to see if I was able to improve my possibility of both re-growth and lengthening my hair growth cycle, which lead me to try DS.

 

What was the severity of your issue?

Male pattern baldness runs on both sides of my family, with me personally noting some hair loss as early as 17. When I was diagnosed with alopecia relating to male pattern baldness, I was told my hair would thin to the point where I would be completely bald. That is something I expressly did not want to happen.

 

How much time from the start of use did you start seeing results?

I started the DNC-s treatment in December, and added DNC-n in early January. My hair has grown at least half an inch, all around, the crown bald spot in at least 20% smaller and shrinking and I have some growth along my hairline. My hair also has more volume. I noticed these positive effects within the first two weeks of starting the DNC-s treatment, and have seen a faster rate of growth since adding the DNS-n treatment.

 

What did you like most about the product?

The effectiveness so far has been great, and the lack of scalp irritation/side effects has been wonderful. The price point is workable, and from someone who paid to buy Rogaine foam every months, appreciate the cost of DS products, especially considering their increased effectiveness over Rogaine.

 

Anything you did not like?

The tips of the spray applicator of the DNC-s both broke by the 2nd application, which was very annoying.

 

Would you recommend these products?

I’ve already recommended the DS products I’m already using and the shampoo to a goof friend who has more recently joined the male pattern baldness club, and he’s starting to notice some positive results himself over the last few weeks.

 

Anything you would recommend to customers in the market looking for a product to help with hair loss or other hair issues?

For those with advanced hair loss potential (such as myself), a combination of topical and oral medication would be most effective in reversing hair loss.

Final Thoughts:

I still have the hopes of getting a full head of hair to the point where I can get haircuts again and style it different ways. I’ll admit, I felt a bit cheated that my hair loss started becoming an increasing severe issue right when I was starting to explore personal style in my early 20s. I’ve always wanted to have long hair- it’s a personal style I like, and when you have the sort of male pattern baldness I’ve had, it makes it seem silly to still be fighting/working to make that happen, but I want to keep at it.
